Auditory Processing Disorder (APD)

Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) Testing for Adults and Children

Do you or your child have normal hearing but still find listening hard, especially in busy or noisy environments?

We now offer Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) assessments for both children and adults. APD affects how the brain processes sound — not how well the ears hear.

APD can present differently across ages:

Children may:

  • Struggle to follow instructions

  • Find it hard to understand speech in classrooms

  • Have difficulty with reading, spelling, or learning

  • Appear distracted or fatigued by listening

Adults may:

  • Struggle to follow conversations in background noise

  • Feel mentally exhausted after listening

  • Mishear instructions or conversations

  • Notice increasing difficulty at work or in social situations

Our assessments are evidence-based and tailored to the individual, with results explained in clear, practical terms.

We provide realistic management strategies to support communication at school, work, and in daily life.
