Kapiti Hearing offers a full one-hour diagnostic assessment of your hearing, in a sound-treated environment, certified to the latest ISO standards. Your initial ear testing consultation includes:
- Full history of ear and hearing-related health, as well as a discussion of how any hearing difficulties are affecting me
- Full audiometric assessment (Pure tone audiometry, including Air and Bone conduction testing - the listening test that determines the quietest sounds you can hear at different pitches, and also determines where your hearing loss is located)
- We will assess the health of your pinna (floppy bit on the outside), ear canal, and ear drum
- Speech discrimination testing - how clearly you can hear speech at different volumes
- Middle ear analysis - tests the movement of your ear drums, which can be affected by fluid, negative pressure, or several middle ear diseases
- You will be given a clear and understandable explanation of the results, and appropriate management options
